Flat Out Friday

When you need a more casual look it is great to throw on a pair of flat sandals rather than a wedge. With all the fun colors this year you can really dress up a more casual outfit with a pair of these colorful bad boys.

My personal favorite really dresses up an outfit

From Francesca's

Or some of these would really add some color to your wardrobe.

Of course classics are always in style.

Will you be wearing a wedge or a flat this weekend?

Who I spend all my time with!

We spend more time with the people we work with than we do our own families at home.

I could not be happier to spend every day with these folks.

Minus Endy and Ron!

Wedge Wednesday

Wedges are everywhere this season and I could not be happier.

Especially when they come in all these fun colors!

These pair perfect with your summer outfits to give them a more casual summer feel rather than a regular heel.

Of course I love the coral ones. These are from Nordstrom, but at $90 I decided to keep looking and found these bad boys at Marshals for only $30.

You can find these at Target clearanced this week for only $17!

What are your favorite wedges and did you score a deal on them?

The last four years were busy!

I think it is human nature to plan our lives out and say what we will do, where we will be, what age we will marry, how old we will be when we have kids, etc..

I used to plan everything. Six years ago I had just purchased my first home in my hometown of Greenville, South Carolina.

I had it all planned out....
I would live there for a few years, get married, move across town with Keith, you get it.....

I grew up in Greenville and had an amazing 25 years there with my friends and family

There was so much I loved about this city!

There were amazing restaurants, a beautiful downtown, a fabulous Zoo and one of the best thing of all was this woman....

She was more than a Grandma, she was a best friend! (miss you Granmda)

Well staying here was not what the Lord had planned for us. Keith landed a promotion in Albany, Georgia and I stayed behind for a few months until I scored a job with a company in my industry in Albany as well.

So four years ago this month I made my way to Albany, Georgia to be with Keith.

I cried every day for the first month(or two) that we lived there. I missed my friends, my family and was not adjusting well to the change.....

Until we moved into our first home together in Rawson Circle

Little did we know we were about to meet some best friends who are still just like family to us!

It is funny that I cried when we arrived and I cried harder the day Keith told us we had to move again because of his job.

The industry that Keith was in was very rocky as the economy was growing worse, so we were given a one week notice that we had to move to Florence, South Carolina

We packed up with the help of our new friends in Georgia and made our way to Florence on Valentine's Day!

We tried to find the positive in this situation as we were closer to our families and friends in Greenville, we were close to the beach but there is no way to really sugar coat this because it was just plain hard at first.

Until,,, we met some of these great people

I went to work for a local Newspaper and TV Station there where I met some new friends.

We lived here for exactly six months before Keith took a new job that allowed him the opportunity to live any where he chose as long as he was near a major airport.

So,,,,I landed a job back in my industry here in Charlotte a little over two years ago.

And we packed up and headed for Charlotte, North Carolina crying AGAIN when I had to say Good Bye to my new friends.

You are probably thinking I did a lot of crying-I did!

I remember being so excited the day we pulled in to Charlotte, I could not wait to start our life here.

We have been here almost three years now and I love Charlotte.

I won't lie, we had a heck of a time making new friends here since it is such a large town but we have made some good ones and look forward to making new memories with them.

I know this was a long post but my point is that things may not work out the way you planned them but they work out! In most situations they work out better and if not better you learn a lot and meet great people along the way.

I am thankful for everyone we have met on our journey so far and looking forward to meeting many more.

Maxi Monday

Do you love Maxi Dresses?

I was slow to jump on board with the maxi dress but I grew to love them.

They are so comfy but yet dressy!

These are my two personal favorites that you cannot get me out of

Either of these would be perfect for a night out at the beach

And this would be great for a dinner date or baby shower.

Happy Monday!

What to Wear Wednesday

Who does not love Turquoise this season?

Who does not love a deal of the season on a great turquoise accessory?

Well, I LOVE them both!

I noticed this beautiful necklace when I was in J.Crew in Atlanta.

As much as I adored it and saw it all over Pinterest afterward, I knew there was no way I was forking over $150 for it.

I love J.Crew but come on?

I was more than thrilled to run across this on another blog at The Small Things Blog

where she said that she found one on Ebay.

I do not use Ebay often and am very leary of it but I Really like this necklace so I hopped on and found it right away for a whopping $14.00!

It arrived today after nearly three weeks!

I have to admit I was beginning to think I had gotten cheated out of my $14.00.

I am beyond excited about my deal of the season and can't to wear it with a white dress

Have you gotten any great deals for this season?

After eating way too many of these...

I found myself in a fitness RUT.

I was running two miles five days a week and doing the same old boring weights I always did and seeing no results. Mind you I know it is because I was stuffing my face with the goodies but I needed a CHANGE.

I got just the change I needed when I was introduced to CrossFit

This is a very unique type of work out. It is a warehouse setting with no cardio equipment. Nothing fancy at all. I even had to change my work out attire so I looked tougher. It is all about intense strength training for a short period of time.

We have been three times and I have used muscles that I did not even know I had. I was so sore on Sunday I could hardly move.

This 28 minute work out on Saturday makes my Saturday morning spin class seem like a nap.

I am sticking with it and will keep you posted on the results!

Hopefully I'll be ready to sport this bad boy in a few weeks!

Patio Party Kick Off

Last weekend I mentioned that Keith and I spent some good quality time at home decorating our patio and planting spring flowers like this one.

So this past weekend we invited our Neighbors over to enjoy the new scenery and kick off our first Patio Party of 2012!

Toffee thought he was the door man

I had so much fun making mini personal portions of the appetizers using small shot glasses and mini bowls!

Mini Shrimp Cocktail

Thank you Keith for my new drink cart!

Keith grilled up some Delicious Mini Slider Burgers after popping open the champagne

Yes Keith has on coral shorts-Yes I bought these for him and NO he won't let me do an OOTD for men!

Dee made a delicious Strawberry Cheesecake which I also had for lunch the next day!

Hop over to Dee's Page at Dee's Adventures  to see how she made it.

We cannot wait for our next Patio Party!
