A New Adventure

I am embarking on a new adventure professionally.

I packed up my desk last week after three great years and am transferring down to what is still a construction site while I await my new community to be completed. I will still be working for the same company.

The new Community should be open late summer so in the mean time I will be working from home and gearing up for the Grand Opening.

I can't wait to share the pictures with you!

Weekend on Wylie

Friday evening after work we decided at the last minute to take the boat out for a little date night.

It was the first time we had been out alone. We really enjoyed just floating around and checking out the lake houses dreaming of  what we would want ours to look like.

Then we headed over for what we thought would be our romantic dinner at T Bone's on the patio.

As we pulled in to park the boat we made some friends who were kind enough to help us tie up.
They invited us on to their party boat and the next thing we knew it was well after midnight and we were dancing the night away with our new friends and with OUT eating dinner.

What a great time, we can't wait to hang out with our new friends again.

Saturday we headed over to our friend Tom's party. He lives right on the lake and hosted a huge party for what seemed to be the entire lake.

This was me all day Sunday while we recovered from too much fun over the weekend.

Spill About Your Love

Today I am linking up with April over at A Liz Adventures  nearly a week late and sharing my current and past love life with you!

1} Describe your dating life prior to finding your husband/boyfriend/fiance.

I had a long term boyfriend of four years through high school, and then enjoyed a fun summer after high school single before I got into another four year relationship with a friend that I had known for sometime. We had a great time traveling and growing up together but realized that we were really just great friends. I spent a fabulous year single  before I ran into an old acquaintance, Keith (my hubby). I knew after just a few weeks that I wanted to be his Misses.  Four  long years later(this had not been my lucky number-see above) he popped the question.

{2} Describe your husband/boyfriend/fiance in one word. How would he describe you in one word?
Genuine. Keith is who he is all the time. He does not try to impress anyone and stays consistent on his beliefs. So if you wear your heart on your sleeve he may hurt your feelings because sometimes he just says it like it is. I asked him three times over to describe me and he said "persistent" because I wouldn't give up asking. Ha!
{3} You had a really silly fight. Embarrassing silly. What was it about?
One that recently stands out in my mind is a tiff over where he was going to park his jeep (with the top off) during a rain storm. He didn't see anything wrong with it being in the driveway getting rained on while I thought it should be in the garage. Argh!

{4} In three sentences (and only three!), describe where you both hope to be in 5 years.
We hope to still be living here in Charlotte with a mini Vermillion, while still maintaining an active social life and squeezing in a few trips around the world with and with out our mini Vermillion.

{5} Tell us something about your husband/boyfriend/fiance we wouldn't know from reading your blog.
Like I mentioned before, Keith is not a very private person and is very consistent, but one thing you may not know is that he is a smoker. Not my favorite thing about him but it is one of those things that you have to quit when you are ready and no one else can convince you to do

{6} What's one thing you never thought you'd do in front of your husband/boyfriend/fiance, but you did?
Cry over a needle. True Story. I had to give blood in front of Keith and he got to see what a baby I am.

Linking up is easy!
* Post your responses to those questions on your blog
* Insert a few photos that you think sum up your relationship
* Insert the logo below with a link back to my blog
* Come over to my blog post and insert your post in the link-up!

Boat-In Movie

The Marina where we store our boat hosted a
Boat-In Movie this past Friday night.

We were so excited to attend our first.

Our neighbors Bryan and Shannan came along for the fun.

We started out with a Picnic Dinner and Sunset Cruise

All the boats anchored up near the screen.

This was such a neat event and unique date night.

My Before and After Project

I had been in great need of a dresser for my guest bedroom when I came across this little project on
Pinterest.

Really, can you believe that before?

I had been searching high and low online for a unique dresser and could not find anything out of the ordinary and a typical dresser was over $300 at Ikea or Target.

I began surfing Craigslist daily when I came across this beauty.

Seriously, it even had the Trellis Print that I swoon over.

I know what you are thinking, but stay with me.

I imagined painting it Gray and adding new knobs and BAM this is what we ended up with.

I have right at  $100 in this including the new knobs.

Now I am searching high and low for a china hutch similar to the one above so I can redo it.

Our First Weekend as Captains

Last weekend was our first real day out to sea.

We could not have been happier about taking our new toy out. Some of my family drove up for the Maiden Voyage.

Our Maiden Voyage was a success!

However the next day we set sail was not quite the case.

While we had a fabulous time with our favorite neighbors and of course the cutest neighbor of all, Miss Shelby we were forced to run for cover from the storm.

We were lucky enough to be present for Shelby's first time in the lake and of course she did great.

That is one big bad wall of storms!

Shelby slept right through the storm.

No, this is NOT my shirt.

We hope everyone will come again when there are no storms in the forecast.
