Dee's Shower

Our Neighbors Brad n' Dee's due date is quickly approaching!
She is the one I made the Gender Reveal Cake for

Her baby shower given by her Mom, Sis n' Law, and Mother n' Law was fabulous.
It was a Pink and Green Dream!

Dee's Mother is so talented!

Dee got so many wonderful and thoughtful gifts from so many wonderful people.

It was so great to see some local Blogging Friends!

I made the cake!

Dee was so surprised by all the decor and guest.

So glad that we met Brand and Dee and look forward to loving Shelby soon!

Two Birthdays....One Weekend!

It makes for a super busy weekend when you have Two Big 3-0's and a Baby Shower in one weekend!

But it was a fun one!

We started out celebrating Shannan's Birthday at

It was DELICIOUS!

We had an amazing view of UpTown Charlotte.

I have yet to try their brunch but I hear the have Buy One Mimosa for $10 and get everyone after for a penny! Can't wait to try it!

Peach Bellini made the pic front and center, thanks Bryan!

Happy Birthday Shannan!

That's her in the middle.

Saturday morning I moved right on to the shower, that is another post all by itself!

Saturday night we headed over to Kennedy's Irish Pub for Courtney's Big 3-0!

Fabulous Patio!

However, don't go here if you are wanting more than bar food.

Then we headed over to Whiskey Warehouse Rooftop!

What a view from the rooftop.....

Good Times!

Happy Birthday, Court!

Felt like we were in our twenties again pulling two all nighters in a row!

We slept till 11am on Sunday!

Oops!

Where We Belong

I love Emily Giffin and every book she has ever written.

Yes, I have read all of them.

The most recent was
"Where we Belong

While I love her and all her books, it pains me to tell you it was by far not her best. Maybe that is just because I don't think anything can compare to "Something Borrowed" her very first book.

Anyway, it was a good read there just was not a real climax. And might I add the ending,,,,,,WHAT???? Ok I won't spoil it for you because it is worth the read but I look forward to hearing what you think about it.

It really made me think though afterward. The story is about adoption, a young girl gets pregnant and chooses to give her daughter up.

Years later, she wonders did she make the right choice, what a tough position.

Happy Reading!

Is She Wearing White?

After Labor Day in the South?

According to most in the South that is a NO NO!

I am guilty of following that belief pretty much my whole life, but this year I am breaking out of that cycle.
How could you not, it is still in the 80's!

I may not go as far as white shorts or a white dress but look at these white denim outfits and how they transition right in to fall!

When paired with a denim jacket, closed toe shoes and camel accessories it really changes the look.

Now if this isn't a "Rule Breaker" for the Traditional Southerner(myself included).

Black, brown and white after Labor Day.....
But come on you know it looks GREAT, especially when you add a dark fall polish, scarf and gold jewelry.

One of my very faves, camel and white!

It does not get much classier than that!

I would suggest you get these outfits out of your system no later than mid October because white at Halloween just sounds odd(to me at least)

But remember the most important thing is, if you love white sport it when ever you want, January if you want! It's your body, your fashion life and I bet you will look fab doing it!

Lu's Look for Less

Who does not love a deal?

Come on! Trends change so quick that sometimes we can hardly  even sport them more than once, so dropping over $100 on a very trendy lace top was not on my to do list!
I fell in love with this one from Madewell
So I decided I would see if I could find something similar, however the scalloped hem at the bottom was a must.
So, I hit my regular go to sites and boutiques such as Ivy and LeoVestiqueFrancesca's and of course my go to for nearly everything lately, Banana. Don't be confused I searched a LOT more places than these listed.

With no luck at all I ended up at Ann Taylor
BAM!

Prettydarn close huh?

Normally $58.00 on sale for $29.99 with 40% off=
DEAL!

Tips N Toes!

I am a nail polish junkie!

In fact I bet I spend 3 to 4 hours a week doing my nails!
Oh well!
This fall I am thrilled about sporting these new colors.
Mink Muffs by Essie
Soaman Sand by OPI-My go to for every outfit
Good as Gold by Essie for a night out-not so much for the office!
Penny Talk by Essie- A little toned down, could possibly be worn in a fun office.
I just retired Mimosas for Mr and Mrs by OPI, however this is a great transitional color when you are trying to squeeze in that coral and white a few more times!

Emma Faith!

This is the sweet name of our newest little Niece!

Look at those long legs, her daddy is very tall!

Even her feet are pretty!

Proud Parents!

And a VERY proud big sister!

We are so happy for them!

I did not want to let go of her. I think I held her three hours straight and loved every minute of it.
