Cruisin'

We just returned from a fabulous trip aboard the
Carnival Dream.

We caught a lot of slack about going on a cruise after the recent media blasting but our neighbors recently returned and loved it so we decided to give it a shot despite the media blasts.

It was great, just for the record. No issues at all. I will agree with Dee that there are certainly some interesting people aboard the ship as well but other than those few characters we encountered it was superb.

We had a balcony room that was right on the water.

I could not have been more pleased with the room.

I think a balcony room is the only way to go when cruising.

We set sail about 4 pm last Saturday.

The ship was beautiful. The decor was a little loud and not like the tropical hotels we usually stay at in the Caribbean but it suited the ship and atmosphere.

Our first night at sea was wonderful. Neither of us got sea sick at all. We had a delicious dinner and made our way to the casino.

I won't lie, we spent a LOT of time in the Casino.

Check back later this week to see if it paid off!

Two Weeks Away

I am still here. I was away for two weeks.

I spent a week in Atlanta for work

And enjoyed some much needed but never enough time with this girl. I am so thankful we still work together after ten years even if it is in different states.

I spent the next week away aboard this ship in
The Virgin Islands

More to come on the cruise. Good Times. Regardless what anyone says about Carnival we had a great time.

In the mean time I was busy reading this book and wanted to share with you how great it was.

But then again anything being read in the middle of the ocean with nothing else in sight is a great read huh?

Now this is not your classy read here ladies but it was really good. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time and was super easy to get into right from the start.

I moved on to The Happiness Project that came highly recommended from numerous different bloggers but I am having a  difficult time getting into it.

I pretty much just read for fun, I don't care for informational, factual books. Just me.

Anyway I return to work in the office tomorrow for the first time in two weeks. Will you judge me if I say I am already looking to plan my next vacay?

What can I say, I LOVE to travel but doubt my work will go for that this soon.

Nude Necessities

Nude is taking over my Coral obsession but the best thing about nude is that is pairs FABULOUS with all my Coral!

Even better, it goes with everything. Here are a few Nude Necessities that we all need for this spring and summer.

I would normally not purchase a Nail Color this pricey but Estee Lauder got it PERFECT here and I have not been able to find that with Essie or OPI.

If you have not checked out a Dillard's Shoe Section lately you are missing out. It is Huge and the selection is greater than any other store.  Antonio Melani  is my favorite shoe brand by far. They are so classy, and unique and sold exclusively at Dillards.

Ladies please make sure you wait until a Wednesday-BR is 40% off every Wednesday.

Another Dillard's fave

I picked these up in a Dillard's store but could not find them online to share with you.
You can also pick up a pair very similar
Here @ Target for around $25.

Weekend Where Abouts!

What a fabulous and relaxing weekend!

We started out at Food Truck Friday after work.

Only to learn that most of Charlotte had this same idea. The wait for my fave food truck Papi Queso was an hour long.

We bit the bullet and waited it out. Keith had not tried it yet and agreed it was WELL worth the wait.

I had The Pig Mac. It is exactly what it sounds like, macaroni and cheese and barbecue.

I have become obsessed with following this dude all around town, his food is amazing.

Keith got a new toy over the weekend that he is very proud of.

I have to admit I was not happy about this at first, ok I was hoping he would change his mind but he seems to love it and it helps he looks so stinking sexy on it.

So I gave in and sat on it(in the garage). I have not ridden it yet and don't know if I will-LOL.

Saturday I spent most of my time filling this baby up for an upcoming trip.

Picked up a new pair of shorts at Ann Taylor with 30%  off. I do not like to pay full price, who does?

Keith and I had a Skip Bo Championship over the weekend and I am sad to say he took the Title of Champion.

Hope you had a great weekend, I am off to Atlanta for work this week but looking forward to visiting with one of my dearest friends there.

Monday Matte-ness!

Philosophy is my very favorite skin care line. I have been using their Exfoliating Scrub, Moisturizer, and Primer for a little over a year and I am very happy with it. The downer though was they did not have a product that catered specifically to Oily skin.

That's me, I am as slick as glass come noon and not just in the normal T Zone, I am talking all over shiny and slick.

I was stopped dead in my tracks walking thru  Belk when I spotted their brand new Matte-ness products.

It has not hit all stores yet but you can purchase

I picked mine up at Belk and they were giving away this darling bag with your purchase.

Who doesn't love freebie gifts?

So far I love love love these products. I got the Cleanser you see above and the On The Spot Pore Minimizer and Mattifier.
I have seen immediate results, so ladies with the summer heat approaching if you are oily I recommend you scoop these guys up quickly.

Or you can Purchase at Philosophy today and get 20% off!

Learning to Let Go!

Keith and I decided at the last minute to spend a long weekend in Chi-Town. With that being said Keith wanted it to be just that
"a spur of moment-last minute trip"which meant he didn't want me to plan out every detail of every day including all meals, snacks, cocktails and events through out the day, which I tend to do.

On Our last trip to Mexico the Resort had to provide us with a calendar because we had so many excursions and activities planned.

Maybe I over did it, Keith thought so at least.

I have always struggled with this. I never wanted to miss out on anything, and felt like I needed to be in two or three places at once.

I had been so busy with work that I did not put up much of a fight and booked my flight to Chi-Town without a single thing planned, not even one dinner reservation.

This was big folks but the truth was I liked  loved it.

We flew by the seat of our pants, we did not feel rushed, we stumbled in some fabulous restaurants and had some unforgettable meals.

We stopped for Happy Hour when ever we felt like it and hopped  the train and went all the way across town for no reason. We even slept in on vacay which I NEVER  do.

We popped into the Feld Museum on a whim

My job this year has required me to become more flexible and laid back. I am at the mercy of pending construction and have quickly learned that things do not go as planned, dates get pushed back and things change hourly.

I am learning to relax and roll with it!

I am learning things don't always have to be perfect, and planned out.

The bed does not have to be made every single day.
(although I am who I am and I still prefer it is made each day but it does not ruin my day if it's not)

Every thing including the bed sheets don't have to be ironed.

The dishes will be there when I get home.

Every outfit does not have to be Pinterest Worthy and I cannot have every outfit I see on Pinterest.

I don't have to make every Pinterest Craft I Pin.

It's a ok to look back on my weekend and realize I  did absolutely nothing.
