Billy Graham Library

Who does not love to look at Christmas lights during the Holiday Season?

I love it, in fact this is one of my most favorite childhood and even adult memories I have with my Grandma.

We would go at least once a week to look at The Christmas Lights all over my hometown. We have easily done three or four hours at a time in the car.

So, I think it is only natural that this is important to me to continue this tradition with my children. (and Keith in the meantime)

The Ya Ya's (my mom and Aunts) were visiting before Christmas so after we took on the malls we had a nice dinner at Rock Bottom's (very disappointed they removed Chicken Picatta from the menu) and headed over to Billy Graham Library.

They do a fabulous display of lights, carriage ride, live nativity scene and a tour through the home Billy grew up in.

Is this not the most beautiful Southern Living like living room?

This was such a nice evening!

Afterward we were right back at it and hit the bookstore since they were open till Midnight.
These ladies like to shop, can you tell?
Ok-I do too!

Christmas Festivites

As I sit here writing this we are listening to  Rob Thomas with Match Box 20 on
"A Home for The Holidays with Rascal Flatts"
Rob Thomas reminds me of my first few dates with Keith, Rob had just come out with his own CD and he was and still is one of our favorites.

This is the sweetest show about Adoption and how important and special adopting can be.
I would personally adopt and be open to welcoming a child into our home.
I admire these families that have opened their homes and hearts and loved these children like they are their own.
On another note we have been busy busy with Christmas festivites. Every single night last week was full.
Here are a few of my fave snapshots from the weekend

Toffee sporting his Christmas Hounds tooth sweater

How much does this dog look like Toffee? It is actually not really him, but I snapped this photo shopping at South Park last week. How funny?

A little Christmas Craft I threw together this week for my mail carriers. Yes, I have a lot of mail carriers. Three Fed Ex guys, one fabulous UPS guy and one USPS mail man.
Don't forget your mail carriers at Christmas time.

We received this beautiful bouquet of cookies at work this week. They are almost to pretty to
even eat.

We are very excited to head home for the Holidays Saturday.

Are you traveling or staying at home this year?

Cake Boss

We got last minute tickets to Cake Boss from
Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.

If you are looking for somewhere to do volunteer work or if you Extreme Couponers are looking for something good to do with your extra stash of food and toothpaste you score for almost free please find your local Ronald McDonald house and put these goodies to good use.

This week they need Gallon Size Ziploc bags

We headed over to Ovens Auditorium after work to see Cake Boss Live.

It was actually a really good show. It was very informative for a cake decorator like myself.

I learned I need a Sheeter, which rolls your Fondant out for you so you don't have to use a rolling pin and I definitely
need an airbrush which will wind up making that a very expensive show to attend after learning about these two necessities.

Buddy says that the sheeter is equally as imortant as the oven itself.

We had such a great date night with Buddy!

Much Needed Weekend

Last week was challenging to say the least.
I could not have been more excited when Friday at 6:00pm hit.
Keith and I had a quiet dinner at home and then hit the stores to do some shopping and take advantage of avoiding the crowds. We shopped till 10PM.
Saturday we had a Birthday Party for a friend that we met through our friends Carrie and Kevin.
LATE NIGHT! We did not get home till nearly 3:00am but had a great time.

In fact this is the only photo we took because we took.

Sunday I wrapped and wrapped and wrapped some more.

I am ready to be done with that and get in the kitchen to make some Christmas Goodies.
Sunday we went to The Light Display at the Speedway in a caravan with the neighbors.

The Christmas Village was our favorite, Bryan touched the animals. I did not.

You know you are in NC when they have a Bojangle's tree. It was actually really cute.

Lu's Look for Less

If you read this blog a lot then you know I LOVE to shop and I LOVE clothes and accessories BUT I love a deal more than that, which is why I have to go so often, In order to find that perfect deal.

I had been stalking this vest at J.Crew

Even more so after seeing it on Pinterest paired with this plain button up and riding boots.

But, the bummer was this single vest was $130 at J.Crew.

So, you can only imagine how thrilled I was to stumble upon one that was nearly identical in a Consignment shop in Five Points In Columbia a few weekends ago for $30. SCORE!!!

Please pardon the pic. Keith is practicing at getting better at taking OOTD pics for me.
