Girls Weekend!

My two Crazy Aunts (Kim and Jane), Mom and Cousin(Kelsey) came to town this weekend! They do this almost once a month and boy do we have fun! We shop, gab, eat, shop, socialize, shop, eat some more! No matter where we are or what we are doing it is ALWAYS a blast when we are together!

We tried a new restaurant Friday night in Uptown called Vapiano. It was great, although very unique.

When you enter the restaurant you are given a "charge card".

There are numerous stations such as "Pizza", "Pasta", and "Salad" that you visit and choose what you would like to order and scan your card. The food was great, however when we go out to eat I prefer to be waited on. Maybe I am just lazy?! I got a Caesar Salad and Shrimp Scampi(remember,my new fave from earlier this week).

The atmosphere was GREAT though. Great decorations and live entertainment and of course FABULOUS company!

We returned home for some of Keith's Homemade Creme Brulee and a night of Trivia! Kelsey helped Keith torch them up!

The next morning we hit the ground running in hopes to find some great sales on the Latest Spring Arrivals!

We did happen upon a fabulous sale in the Michael Kors section at Belk which was a huge surprise because he is our latest obsession. I was not lucky enough to find any in my size but everyone else really racked up for under $30 bucks each! WOW!

I did however find the PERFECT hat to go with my Judith March dress for The Carolina Cup! It is a perfect match! Love it when that happens!

After shopping all day long we finished with a yummy three course dinner at Harper's and went to see Joyful Noise, which was HILARIOUS!

Sunday was no different! We had to complete the shopping that we did not get done Saturday. I was not kidding when I said we really like to shop. We were on a mission today to find Chargers to go with my Mikasa China. No luck yet!

We had lunch today before they left at my very favorite restaurant in Charlotte, BrickTops! If you have not tried it, you are missing out! Get the Parmesan Crusted Chicken!

I miss them already!
Hope you have a good week!

Blue is the New Hue Around Here!

Today was a busy day but I did squeeze in a little
Home Decor Errands!

Anyone who knows me knows I love to decorate, undecorate, redecorate and well you get it....... I can't commit to home decor for long!

I am stuck on blue right now! I love the blues, browns, tans, silvers, and most recently love the patterns. I am normally pretty boring with solids so this is a big change for me! Silly huh?

I picked these pillows up at Target for $14.99! They are part of the new "Dwell Studio" collection. It is very modern and classic with a little twist for the conservative like me who is afraid of too much color!

The next two items I added to my Blue obsession were these iron wall plaques. They are actually from JOANN'S CRAFTS and 50% off right now so they were only $20!

What colors are you decorating with right now?

Good Night! 7:45AM meeting tomorrow, what was I thinking?

Terrific Tuesday

Tonight Keith and I had an impromptu Candle Light Dinner!

Keith made a yummy Shrimp Scampi using the following Recipe......

1/2 white onion
1.5lb deveined/peeled shrimp sprinkled with Rosemary, salt, and pepper
1/2 cup of your favorite white wine
3 tbs butter
3 tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3 Tbs chopped garlic
1 Large Lemon

1. Mix Olive Oil and 1 tbs butter over medium heat.
2. Add 1/3 of the onion, 1/3 of the garlic and all of the shrimp
3. Cook until shrimp is done and remove the shrimp leaving the sauce
4. Add the remaining Garlic and Onion to the sauce mixture and saute until the onions are soft.
5. Add the juice from the lemon
6. Add 1/2 cup wine
7. Reduce by half
8. Add shrimp, remaining butter and mix your favorite noodle with the mixture. (we use the Dreamfields Pasta because it is low in carbs)

Hope you enjoy it!
Definitely one of our new faves!

A Case of the Mondays!

How many of you eat Pizza or something really bad for you after you work out?
THIS GIRL DOES!
I went to a Kick Boxing Class tonight at The YMCA and it kicked my tail so I came home and ate three slices of Pizza (and enjoyed every bite of it).

Enough of that!

Do you have trouble choosing jewelry to go with your outfits?
Well this Spring the "MUST HAVE" Jewelry piece is a Statement Piece, such as a Large eye catching necklace or bracelet.

I picked up this great Statement Necklace and Bracelet at Bananna Republic. It would look great with white, cream, blue, even (drum roll)................black. It was nearly a sin growing up in the south to wear brown and black together but boy has that changed!

Or you could go with a Pop of Color to really make a
Statement!

Happy Monday!

Starting My Blog!

After much thought and consideration while following my new friend Dee's blog I decided to join the blogging world so I could share the little things in life that are important to me! I know the bare minimum when it comes to creating a blog so my FABULOUS Brother and Sister in law help me put this together, design it, actually use it, and even name it so I wanted to dedicate my VERY first blog to them.

Thank you Kris and Carmen Vermillion for all your help!
